Hello All,
I know it's been a while since I posted last. I'd like to be able to say it was because of some grand adventure involving me and a plucky group of misfits stopping miscreants from taking over or destroying the world, but it was not. No, the lack of posting was due primarily to lack of new ideas and initiative on my part (also, I really didn't think you all wanted to read more about me being in a funk).
But "what about that title?" I hear you ask. Well, that title is in reference to my return to formal academia. That's right, I'll be attending a local community college for the fall 2010 quarter. Apparently, my Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Arts isn't so desirable by employers in this economy (nor is my nine years of administrative experience, which is even more depressing). So I'm going back to school to study engineering. I ended up registering for classes a little bit later in the registration period than I'd like (as most of the classes I wanted were taken). Nevertheless, I did succeed in getting into a necessary math class, a foreign language course and one of the college's required diversity courses (well, I'm at the top of the waiting list on the last two, but if I get in, I'll have 15 credits for the quarter). To say these results are somewhat disappointing would be accurate. But sometimes that's what happens. I'm going to continue to check the school's wait list for some of the chemistry and physics courses in the hopes that those wait lists shrink down from the 7-10 people that are already on them. But I'm not holding my breath either. Hopefully this return to school will inspire me to write more and give me some more ideas for my novel.
So just to recap:
1) I apologize for lack of posts this summer
2) I'm going back to school and I'm not too keen on that
3) I only managed to get 1 class out of 3 that applies directly toward my major
4) I'm not giving up on getting more of the classes that can apply toward my major this semester
5) I'm now older than I was (Nope, that wasn't covered above, I was just making sure that you were still following along.)
Thank you and good night! I'll see you next time. :)
